Life Drawing

Introduction
As this was the last session of the term, we recapped on points we have learnt before and were introduced to some of the things we will be learning next term.
Session
2 Minute Poses 1
These are sketches that we started with to 'warm-up'. This is why they are not very good with proportions, perspective and detail. I feel though that I have improved on recording the 'layout' of the model because this was reflected on my last life drawing post.

2 Second Poses 2
[2 Second Poses 2: Charcoal]
30 Second Poses 1
These are sketches of the model when we had to draw her within thirty seconds. This is why the sketches are not detailed or complete. this is purely an exercise of observation and speed.

Negative Space
This exercise we had to capture the negative space of the model. therefore rather than recording the model accurately I focused on the shapes which were created with the negative space.
I feel that I have improve my observation skills because I ignored the complexities of the model and focused on the shapes that were being made. I will then apply this to future sketches to make my drawings effective.

Rotation Drawing
This task involved the model moving around on the spot every two minutes to challenge our observation and perspective skills. I feel that my proportions could be better and to keep the composition consistent the models should have been the same scale. I was too focused on observing and didn't plan the scale of the drawings first.

Character Sketching 1
These next sketches are of the model in different poses which display different emotions. this is touching on the subject we will be learning next term dealing with character designs. These sketches took longer to create and we had five minutes to draw each one. I avoided drawing the face because i wanted to express the emotion through the body language.
This sketch shows the model in a depressed pose. This is shown through the slouched position and 'lifeless' arms hanging by her sides.

Character Sketching 2
This sketch shows the model in a triumphant pose.
This is shown by the raised head and arms.
[Character Sketching 2: Pencil]
Character Sketching 3
This sketch shows the model in a suspicious pose.
This is shown by her 'closed' position with her crossed arms and neck position.
[Character Sketching 3: Pencil and Charcoal]
Character Sketching 4
This sketch shows the model in a confident pose with her open arms.

Conclusion
In conclusion I feel that I have learnt a lot over this past term about a range of techniques. I will continue this in the next term and apply what i have learnt this term as well as learn new ones.
